After a decade in Telecommunications- Sales & Marketing, and working as a Writer/Producer in broadcast communications with organizations such as: WPIX, CBS, Atlanta Public Library TV, US Sprint, MCI etc.; in 1993 [having a half decade of his own lived recovery experiences], Anthony embarked on a Human Services career. He felt it was now time to practice “Selling People on Themselves” ®. He then spent decades working with youth, adults & staff administratively, clinically &/or in a consulting capacity in recovery settings and also specializing in Rehabilitative Workforce Development at organizations such as: Harlem Children’s Zone, Fresh Air Fund, Housing Works, Mount Sinai Hospital, Addiction Rehabilitation Treatment Center, and the Back-to-work WeCaRE  initiative (to name a few).

Anthony continues to enjoy teaching at varied educational settings & colleges including: Long Island University , CUNY/Lehman College, Metropolitan College of New York & Exponents Personal & Professional Development Center. Authoring curriculums (with organizations such as OASAS) as an Educational Vendor/ provider as well as articles, and training initiatives. He is currently working on several books , workbooks, & recovery tools focusing on identity, efficacy, recovery and spiritual purpose. Anthony is President of: Therapeutic ValYou’s un/ltd. [TVU]; and founder of [the not-for-profit] Ministries of Me [M.O.M]. TVU is consortium of people with products & services that provide: tools, training & treatment of an educational, vocational & inspirational nature. TVU also created the “pro bono” [not-for-profit] subsidiary: Ministries of ME (formerly Mental Health Ministries). Anthony who likes to be called “Mills” graduated Magna Cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Human Services with a Psychology major & Marketing Management minor;. After being awarded the Kennedy Fellowship for his work with special needs populations, he went on to receive his Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and later a Post Graduate Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling. He is a OASAS-CASAC – Master Addictions Counselor and a Nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor; and is in the process of securing his Limited- Permit and license in Mental Health Counseling.

Anthony was appointed to the Harlem Hospital Community Advisory Board and became Vice President during his tenure.

Having decades of personal self-help & mutual aid lived experience (with no recurrence) coupled with evidenced-based clinical expertise informs his knowledge. He has created, founded and coordinated many forums focusing on addiction, self-efficacy, and adult’s recovery with traumatic and neglectful childhoods.

He is happily married and has a young adult son.
