Robert has specialized training in sexuality and psychodynamic family of origin issues. Robert has served in various capacities within the chemical dependency and mental health field beginning with his work at Behavioral Health of Baton Rouge working with adolescents and their families. Robert’s position as a primary psychotherapist for the well-known Sierra Tucson’s Sexual Recovery Program allowed him to develop and refine his skills in this critical area of treatment. He specializes in facilitating groups for sexual concerns and childhood traumas, as well as presenting lectures on relevant topics. Never to shy away from challenges, Robert also worked with juvenile sex offenders as the program’s clinical director when he lived in the state of Washington. Robert worked at Caron Renaissance for over 25 years and has served as a Primary Therapist, Director of Family and Specialty Services, and Clinical Director during his tenure. Robert has enhanced his abilities through years of training in many different therapeutic modalities, Psychodrama Training, Focused Expressive Psychotherapy Training, and trained by Patrick Carnes. Robert is also a Certified Trauma Therapist (C.T.T.) through the Post Traumatic Stress Institute in Houston, TX, and a Board Certified Sex Therapist (CST) in the state of Florida. Robert holds or has held various certifications and licenses in Florida, Arizona, Washington, Louisiana, nationally, and internationally, and has expertise in mental health, multicultural, process addictions, and forensic counseling. Among his many accomplishments, he is a Diplomate and Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and a member of the American Association for Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists. Robert also served our country with the U.S. Marine Corps (1980-1986) and honorably discharged.
