Shelley Orren-King, LCSW-R has been working in the clinical social work field since 1980 providing mental health services for youth, adults and families. Her experience ranges from working in outpatient hospitals settings, group homes and halfway houses as well as other community-based agencies and outpatient alcoholism rehabilitation programs. She is licensed in the state of New York and has a post graduate certificates in Gestalt Psychotherapy, EMDR and in Family Systems Theory. She earned her master’s from Hunter College of Social Work with a duel focus on Case Work and Group work.Shelley has maintained a private practice working with individuals, couples and groups since 1984 in New York City. Currently she is the Clinical Director at the Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy and Training and a senior faculty member teaching both Post Graduate and Licensed Psychoanalysis trainees In the Gestalt Method.Her philosophy is that change happens when we enter the unknown with awareness and the support of guides and family.
