RECOVERY COACH

I Timothy Miller was born in the Bronx, New York, at Jacobi hospital on April 27th, 1964. At the age of seven my parents brought a home in Queens N.Y. As a child I enjoyed school, sports & cooking. After obtaining my GED I worked for the family business Tony’s Deli, where I invested many of my culinary skills. As I prepared a variety of different foods and pastries chop bbq , chicken cutlet parmesan, rice pilaf, red velvet cake, cheese cake. In 1990 I furthered my cooking skills and enrolled into N.Y. Food and Hotel Management . I completed this course in July, 1990 with a certificate in commercial cooking and catering. I began a career with Nassau Extended Care Nursing Home and in 2000 I was a senior cook for N.Y. C. Department of Corrections. I retired in 2016 from N.Y.C. Department of Corrections. As a senior cook a seed was planted to help those who have mental illness, I also registered with New York State and began my cake business from my home. I have been abstinent for 28 years, I have utilized my recovery expertise and life experience by helping others who struggle with addiction. I have been a pillar in my community regarding issues of addiction and I assist members of my community who are considering substance abuse treatment options. I advocate and educate my community with concerns of substance abuse and mental health in addiction. I assist members in my community develop recovery plans and practice new recovery interventions. I facilitate non-clinical support groups and information sessions which emphasize self empowerment. I am a certified recovery coach, in this role I serve as an accountability partner to help sustain his / her recovery. I also help people access recovery systems that may have baffled them in the past. In conclusion my passion  is helping people achieve and maintain abstinence and a productive life . I studied at Great Escape Substance Abuse Training & Information Inc.
